Real production times for promotional products
Forget marketing promises: here are the real timelines, product by product
Real timelines including validation, production, marking and transport. No commercial BS.
The truth about timelines
The promotional products industry loves to promise "48h delivery" or "72h express". The reality? These timelines ONLY count final delivery, not proof validation, not production, not marking.
Real average timeline: 15-21 business daysIndicative orders of magnitude. The exact lead time of each product is shown on its product page once you choose the quantity and technique, then confirmed on the quote.

Why "48h Delivery" is a lie
Decoding industry commercial traps
48h = only final transport
The announced 48h only counts transport once the product is finished and packaged.
The realityThe days needed for proof approval, production and marking are not counted. That's marketing nonsense.
"Available" stock = BLANK stock
When a seller says "in stock", they're talking about the product without marking. Your logo must still be applied.
The realityEven with stock, count 5-7 days minimum for marking + transport. Never 48h.
Express = huge surcharge (and often impossible)
"Express" options exist... but cost 50-100% more and only work on certain products.
The realityRush impossible if: complex product, multi-color logo, embroidery, electronics. And the surcharge is never clearly announced.
The proof trap
The timeline only starts AFTER client proof validation. But this step takes 2-5 days.
The realityIf the supplier announces "10 days", that's 10 days AFTER your proof validation. So 12-15 real days.
Business days vs. calendar days
A timeline announced in "days" always means business days (Monday-Friday, excluding holidays).
The reality10 business days = 2 calendar weeks minimum. With a holiday weekend, it becomes 3 weeks. Do the math yourself.
Rush options: when possible (and when not)
Some products allow rush. Others don't. Here's the truth.
Rush possible (but expensive)
- Pens in stock European stock + simple 1-color pad printing Rush time: 5-7 days
- Standard notebooks Classic models in stock, simple marking Rush time: 7-10 days
- White mugs Permanent stock, fast digital printing Rush time: 6-8 days
- Plain tote bags Classic color stock, 1-color screen printing Rush time: 8-10 days
- Standard USB drives Models in stock, simple logo pad printing Rush time: 10-12 days
Rush impossible (sorry)
- Embroidered textiles Embroidery = long technique, incompressible Minimum time: 18-25 days minimum
- Customized electronics CE standards + mandatory quality testing Minimum time: 20-30 days minimum
- Custom products Made to order, no stock Minimum time: 30-45 days minimum
- Complex multi-color marking Screen printing 4+ colors = drying between layers Minimum time: 15-20 days minimum
- Assembled gift sets Multiple products + manual assembly Minimum time: 20-28 days minimum
Cost of rush (the reality)
Express options are never free. Here are the real surcharges:
- +30-50% on product price for production priority
- +€50-100 express carrier fees (depending on weight)
- Risk of lower quality (shortened QC)

Our 7 golden rules to never be late
- ALWAYS order 3-4 weeks before the minimum announced deadline. Unexpected issues happen systematically.
- Validate your proof within 24 hours. Every day lost here affects the end.
- Avoid December-January (year-end rush) and June-July (trade shows). Timelines x1.5-2 during these periods.
- Order samples 6-8 weeks before final order to validate quality AND timelines.
- For critical events (paid trade shows, launches), plan a backup with "express stock" products in parallel.
- Announced timelines are ALWAYS optimistic. Mentally add 30-40% to be realistic.
- If a supplier promises "guaranteed delivery", ask for written penalties for delays. If they refuse, run.
